Yesterday was the day I was supposed to update. I’m working at updating every four days, but am willing to accept, for now, a slip to a post coming five days after the previous one. As I think I can currently count my readership on the toes of one foot (and can likely name all of you as well), I’m not too concerned about the effect a “late” post will have on your willingness to keep up with what I write here. I’m trying to enforce some discipline on myself though, so posting regularly and on schedule is important to me in that regard.
So why am I a day late? Because other than Florida’s latest cry for attention (since Ohio got all the post-election coverage) overriding the f*cking revolution in Kyrgyzstan in terms of media attention (at least on the local tv news, which is the only tv news I ever happen to catch; I get most of my news online), no subject has really slapped me in the face demanding I write about it.
I started, but couldn’t find my way to the middle of a post about springtime and how, without fail, it kickstarts with steel-toed boots the part of my brain set aside for relationships. I also contemplated finally writing the post about my problems with Democrats and why I think Bush won the election (besides getting more votes, ya smartasses). As you know by now, this post is not about either of those subjects, and don’t you feel a bit like a schmuck for having read nearly all of it expecting me to actually have something to say. Instead I’ve gotten you to spend a minute or so reading what amounts to verbal wanking.
The second of the two subjects mentioned above may well be the subject of the next post. The one after that I expect will be a skewering or possibly a lauding (stranger things have happened) of the Decatur City Commission as they have a meeting on Monday which I will be attending. I figure, if you want an opinion on national politics you can find hundreds of other blogs at least half as well written as mine. For honest opinionated and just plain excellent writing about what’s going on here in Decatur though, I’m your only option.
