Yeah, I know, you’re not reading this blog to hear about the sh*t going on my personal life so I’ll try and broaden the scope.The first several starts were about my beliefs regarding life, the universe, and everything and how they derive from the ideas of God and free will…. In the same way that college students, in between drunken stupors, will pick apart the measly flesh of a Hemingway novel searching for deeper meaning, I choose to pick apart the tiniest details of my own life, searching for meaning.Basically, I’m saying that I need to take more time to step back and truly see her and me and our relationship.

(Yes, the bile is seeping into my bloodstream again, but my reward for finishing this post will be a double shot of the firewater necessary to burn it back into submission so anyone who encounters me later can expect me to be as friendly as normal.)I wasn’t planning on it, but judging by that thing up there I call a paragraph, I think the long delayed post on my writing process is coming out…. If not, well, f*ck, you should at least take note fo the fact that by forcing myself to sit down and write when I didn’t feel the creative urge, I still managed to crank out over 1000 words so stop being afraid of the glaring emptiness of the screen or page, sit your ass down and write.

Bit of a pace change in this post (excluding the Battlestar Galactica post left open from the previous blog incarnation because it’s a durn good show and I stand by my praise for it). This time though the subject at hand is Bruce Springsteen, or more precisely the music of Bruce Springsteen.I’m currently at work on introducing the new girlfriend to said music…. I find out two or three of her favorite groups or artists and then pick the Springsteen album with the musical style closest to those artists…. That is to say, the problem is not that who she chose does not match up with any album, but that they match up with multiple ones.And it hit me that I know all the music too well. For all of my adult life (including the years when I wasn’t yet an adult, but thought I was), Springsteen’s music has been within earshot.

Oh man there’s so much fodder out there from which I could craft this post. Too much in fact.
