So with the screenplay running past deadline, my other self imposed deadline of sending off a short story for possible publication by the end of January has really put me up against the wall. Baring an onset of decapitation or an attack by Masonic ninja, I think I shall make it. The story has been emailed to a friend for proofreading and then it’s just a matter of sending it off. Of course I want writing to become, at least in a very small way, a source of supplemental income so I will be continuing to churn out more stories.
My primary tool for doing so lately (other than my scotch soaked brain) has been the online word processor, Writely. I know there are other sites out there that offer the same function, but for whatever reason, this one has me hooked. Most of the time I forget it’s not a program running on my computer. It meets my two key criteria for “software”: It’s easy to figure out how to use it and it just works (though not with Safari). I can’t recommend it highly enough.
