v for very lazy

I haven’t slept yet so it is still Friday and I have thus only taken one day off of posting. I am, however, taking a break (for at least a day or two) from political opining to prevent my brain from turning to mush. Mostly taking a break anyway. See I had meant to write up a review of V for Vendetta (and I shall), but I’m going to wait until I go see it a second time. While I had reservations about it, they were immolated by what is, I can confidently say, the best film adapted from Alan Moore’s work (note, not the same as the best adaptation of Alan Moore’s work, though it may be that as well, despite what he says) and an important film besides. So for now, I’ll say, go see it (or wait for my full review/assesment of it’s importance).

I’ve also, obviously, put some work into redesigning this site. Most of the spiffiness is not mine (it’s just a tweak of the lush template), though I did smash together the new header graphics on my own (using public domain DOD images). I’m still tweaking, but it’s close to finished. (If you’re reading this from one of the places where I cross-post it, please do check out the site and let me know what you think.)

I’m also feeling the fiction tugging at me again. I think all the little pieces have fallen into place for me to rewrite a screenplay from a few years ago (“The Wind” for those that may remember it), but to get it right this time. Currently watching The Unbearable Lightness of Being which is pushing me towards that work as well. (Who could choose between Lena Olin and Juliette Binoche?) And as Wacko Productions appears to be returning to life, I need some project to rekindle my passion for filmmaking and I think this is the one.

Back to the movie and soon sleep.
