last call

Despite the somewhat ouroboric nature of this Reuters report about a New York Times report about Bush warning Pakistan that Congress may call a spade a spade and cut aid funding to that country from which Osama bin Laden has undone nearly all the work done in Afghanistan, I’ve decided that, in addition to giving me a chance to write possibly the longest run-on sentence I’ve written on this blog, it’s the perfect little opening from which I can make what will likely be my final statement about Bush and his War on Terror.

Until Bush sends Delta Force or the 82nd Airborne or some crazed homeless guy with a squeegee and an appendix full of C4 in to take out bin Laden, I’m done listening to anything he has to say about the War on Terror. The fact that nearly five and a half years after 9/11 the man chiefly responsible for the deaths of 3,000 Americans is still alive and well is a disgrace and a betrayal of every American. Once Bush rectifies that and truly honors the memory of those who have fallen, I’ll give him my full attention again (granted I’m only one person, but I’m one person crazy enough to think that each person and each person’s voice still matters in this country).

While I am on the subject though, all you crazy liberals who insist on saying that Iraq is not a part of the War on Terror, you’re the reason the Democrats can’t get no respect. It’s true that Iraq was (note the past tense) not part of the War on Terror before we steamrolled in, but once we created a power and, more importantly, security vacuum there the terrorists rushed in. Please shout from the rooftops that our entrance into Iraq had (past tense again) nothing to do with the War on Terror, but stop saying it’s unrelated now. You just sound ignorant and unwelcoming to all those conservatives who’re seeking some alternative to the neo-con controlled Republican party.
