Tivoed a Howard Hawks movie last week supposedly titled Flight Commander. Turns out it is in fact Dawn Patrol, Hawks’s first talkie. British airmen either flying to their death or swigging alcohol with none of the ridiculous overactting that plagued the talkie era. .
