That’s right, what was supposed to be a one off experimental project and test for the longer 7 part serial coming this fall, is now a serial on it’s own. Everyone wanted to know what happened next (including me!) so we decided to keep going. Chapter 3 should be online early next month with the conclusion coming in Chapter 4 a month after that. Then, this fall, a new as yet untitled serial will reveal exactly what sent Joe and Grace on the run.
The ever brilliant Damien, who has done me many a good turn by promoting my films and connecting me with people (including most recently Savannah Murphy, star of Wakeup Call), seeks to continue the turning by spreading word of others. With work returning and a half dozen films in the works, I’ve not had time to look over all of the people, so while I cannot vouch directly for them, I can vouch for him. Anyone he wants you to know about is worth knowing about, if not also following slavishly and drowning in heaps of money.
That being said, of those on his list I can offer up a quick recommendation for artist Kirsten Brown as I own some of her work myself, the site grinding as it is among the top feeds I check, the game work of Zachary Anderson who I fortunately know in real life, albeit not as well as I’d like, and the also wonderful art of BenTemplesmith (the 21st century’s answer to BillSienkiewicz, not that Mr. Sienkiewicz is not still producing great work, but if you like the latter, you’ll probably like the former and vice versa).
So I was going to mention that Caught Red Handed, the slasher spoof that we shot seven years ago because we were bored, is now up on YouTube. Somehow though, despite not having told anyone (and only having a handful of subscribers on YouTube), in the four hours since it went on line it’s already racked up an amazing, for us anyway, 69 views, ten just in the past twenty minutes.
So go watch it now, before all your friends have already seen it. And check back in two weeks for the re-release of the 2002 sequel Caught Red Handed 2: Pantherfoot’s Revenge, all leading up to the release this summer of Caught Red Handed: 3D!.
Or you know what, here, let me try this embedding thing:
(And somewhat fittingly, this marks post number 666 on my blog)
As you may have heard, today photo site flickr added the ability to upload videos with one major caveat, one that matters not around here. Only videos shorter than 90 seconds would be allowed, the idea being to stop people uploading The Daily Show and thus encourage it for use with home movies.
But, you (being so clever and having read my internet video manifesto) say, what about 1 minute long microfilms? What indeed? I have now uploaded Wakeup Call onto flickr. Let’s see what happens, shall we?
And because you demanded it, I have written the first of 2 or 3 follow up microfilms so you and I can find out what happens next to Joe and Grace (cause really, I had no idea when I wrote it).
