Well, my big plan for drumming up support for local food banks has ended and, compared to last year at least, proved successful. By which I mean I had two more people make donations. Of course last year I didn’t have anyone take up my offer so, as I said, the success is relative.
So, thanks to Kim and mech_angel for each making a donation.
I’ll likely open up my offer of matching donations again in the spring or summer. Lots of people think to make donations this time of year, but not so much the rest of it.

This story makes this story sound almost desirable. (I first came across that second story back in high school in Las Vegas when I saw two students perform it. As amusing as it is on the page, it’s even better when acted out live.)
Last year I made a post asking for you to give. No one did, but here I am again with the same request. For the month of December, make a donation to either the Atlanta Community Food Bank or a similar agency in your own community and I will match it dollar for dollar (for as long as my money holds out anyway).
I realize a lot of you are probably just working from paycheck to paycheck or even looking for work so I certainly won’t fault you if you don’t or can’t, but even five or ten dollars would be a help to these groups especially as your five dollars would become ten, your ten twenty. If you do choose to donate, let me know (anonymously if you prefer) either with a comment or by sending an email to donate at digital-guerrilla dot com.
To make things a bit easier, below are groups near where some of you live and you can find more at either the National Hunger Clearinghouse, Charity Navigator (which includes ratings based on a group’s financial reports), or the set list page of Bruce Springsteen’s site (just scroll down that page a bit and off to the right side are the groups he’s had at his concerts).

Oh joy. The nutty liberals and the crazy conservatives are both going to be unbearable for a couple days thanks to Al Gore winning a Nobel Peace Prize.
