Smoke ‘em if you got ‘em. And if you don’t the U.S. is eager to provide (lessens the collateral damage when we invade):
U.S. tobacco exports to Iran have grown to $142 million since 2002 and now dwarf those of other American goods shipped there.

Good thing this incident didn’t happen in Boston or they would have had to blow up five or six potatoes before figuring out which was the grenade:
A 74-year-old Italian grandmother who bought a sack of potatoes at the her local market has found a live grenade among the spuds.
“I found a bomb in the potatoes,” Olga Mauriello said.

Ok, CNN. I was going to let your transformation from the Cable News Network into the Celebrity News Network go without comment (in large part because I knew as soon as I let myself discuss any celebrity gossip here, even obliquely, I’d have to break out the brillo pad and scrub myself down). I kept checking on you though, hoping it was just a phase or peer pressure. Then I see this story about Kevin Federline setting up an emergency court hearing which still wouldn’t have provoked me, except then I see that you really have lost what little sense Ted Turner gave you.
It was not known what issue Federline planned to raise.
Really? Is it really, as you also put it, “unclear”? You spend ridiculous amounts of copy, enough to keep textually starving African children reading for weeks, covering Britney Spears’ trips in and out of rehab and her self-shearing and you can’t figure out why her ex-husband with whom she presently has joint custody of their kids would want to rush into court?
You’ve got me seriously worried, CNN, that tomorrow I’ll wake up to find you missing and Fox News parading around with exclusive pictures of you passed out in your own vomit outside a club in Buckhead. Please let the celebrity news go or you leave us no choice but to check you into the Edward R. Murrow Center for Wayward News Agencies.

This news is pitiful.
NASA may not be able to launch the space shuttle’s replacement by 2014 as promised, according to the agency’s 2008 budget request to Congress.
This could increase the gap between the retirement of the space shuttles in 2010 and the launch of their successors, the Orion spacecraft and Ares I rocket, forcing NASA to rely on Russian Soyuz and future commercial spacecraft to send astronauts to the International Space Station (ISS).
The next person that complains about the future not being what it was supposed to be gets a punch in the face unless he has contacted his House Representative or Senator.

As we enter this month when thoughts of giving and receiving crowd their way into our brains, I’d ask that you set aside a little money for those who can’t afford such thoughts. If you live here in Atlanta, please make a donation to the Atlanta Community Food Bank. If you do, let me know how much you’ve donated and I’ll make a matching donation.
If you live elsewhere, track down the foodbank in your area and give. Give because it feels good, give because it’s the Christian thing to do, give because it’s the Muslim thing to do, or give just because you can. Why you do it doesn’t matter, just that you do it.
